Yerevan, March 10, 2025: External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar reaffirmed India's commitment to strengthening ties with Armenia during his meeting with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in Yerevan. He highlighted the deep historical connections between the two nations, emphasizing their expanding political, economic, and cultural collaboration.

In his opening remarks, Jaishankar noted the long-standing relationship between India and Armenia, recalling that the first Armenian newspaper was published in India. “Our ties are deeply rooted in history,” he said, acknowledging the mutual respect and shared heritage between the two countries.

The discussion covered a wide range of topics, including increasing trade figures, defense cooperation, and cultural exchanges. Jaishankar also expressed appreciation for Armenia’s support in hosting a significant number of Indian students. “We thank you for looking after them,” he added.
