New Delhi: External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar on Wednesday held detailed talks with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul in Delhi, covering a wide range of bilateral and global issues as both nations prepare for the next round of Inter-Governmental Consultations (IGC) in India.

In a social media post, Jaishankar said the discussions explored opportunities for greater collaboration in areas such as industry linkages, talent mobility, semiconductors, digital cooperation, and critical technologies. He also welcomed Germany’s strong advocacy for strengthening India-EU relations and its active role in pushing for the conclusion of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

“Delighted to welcome FM Johann Wadephul of Germany this morning in Delhi. Held detailed discussions on our bilateral agenda as we prepare for the next round of Inter-Governmental Consultations to be held in India,” Jaishankar wrote.

Beyond economic and technological cooperation, the two leaders also exchanged views on pressing global developments. Their talks included the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East and West Asia, as well as security and strategic concerns in the Indo-Pacific region.
