BY A STAFF REPORTER: The death toll in Ecuador's prison riots rose from 18 to 31 after four days of bloody fighting, the attorney general's office said Tuesday.

"The death toll has risen to 31 and 14 people have been injured following clashes inside Guayaquil (Guayas 1 prison) since Saturday," the attorney general's office said. "
