Bus falls into gorge, 18 dead

BY A STAFF REPORTER: At least 18 people have been killed in a bus accident in Mexico. Of the 18 dead, six were Indians. In addition, 23 people were injured in the accident. The accident took place in the northwestern Mexican state of Nayarit. The bus was reportedly carrying foreign migrants and locals. The bus fell into the ditch. Three of the dead were minors. 

There were about 40 passengers in the bus at the time of the accident. The bus was on its way from Mexico City to northwest Tijuana, bordering San Diego. "Most of the passengers are foreigners and came from countries such as India, the Dominican Republic and the African continent, some of whom were on their way to Tijuana to enter the United States," the Civil Protection Agency said. The driver of the bus has been arrested on suspicion of speeding.
