Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi Calls for Greater Trust and Dialogue in Meeting with NSA Ajit Doval

Delhi: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met National Security Adviser Ajit Doval in the capital, stressing the importance of enhancing strategic trust and communication between India and China. The meeting took place as part of activities marking 75 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Speaking at the session, Wang Yi, through an interpreter, called for both sides to follow the strategic guidance of their leaders in shaping future relations. He underlined the need to expand areas of common interest through exchanges and cooperation, while also addressing specific concerns along the border.

The minister noted that discussions had taken place in both small group and large group formats, describing the exchanges as in-depth and detailed. He expressed readiness to work with India in building consensus, identifying goals for future boundary consultations, and creating conditions for the improvement of ties.

India and China have maintained regular diplomatic contact, though relations have been marked by challenges in recent years, particularly regarding the Line of Actual Control. The latest engagement signals continued efforts by both governments to manage disputes while advancing cooperation in trade, culture, and regional affairs.
