Ambassador Xu Feihong says China opposes all forms of terrorism, recalls condemnation of Pahalgam attack, and urges sustainable peace between India and Pakistan.
Kolkata, June 8 — On the sidelines of the Chinese Bridge cultural and language competition in Kolkata, Chinese Ambassador to India Mr. Xu Feihong responded briefly to questions on regional security, reiterating a general position against terrorism and calling for lasting peace between neighboring countries.
“China’s position on terrorism is quite clear — we oppose all forms of terrorism across the world,” Mr. Xu said when asked about the broader regional implications following recent incidents, including the attack in Pahalgam. He noted that China had condemned the attack at the time and maintained its opposition to violence targeting civilians.
While refraining from taking sides or offering detailed commentary on geopolitical disputes, the ambassador added, “We hope that India and Pakistan can achieve sustainable peace.”
