Beijing: In response to the recent terrorist attack in Kashmir, China has expressed its hope for de-escalation and a fair investigation, emphasizing the importance of regional stability. Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun, speaking at a press briefing, stated that China welcomes any measures aimed at cooling down the situation and supports a prompt and just investigation into the incident.
“As the neighbor of both India and Pakistan, China hopes that both sides will exercise restraint, work in the same direction, handle relevant differences properly through dialogue and consultation, and jointly uphold peace and stability in the region,” Guo Jiakun said, highlighting China’s position as a concerned neighbor in the ongoing tensions between the two nuclear-armed nations.

The attack in Kashmir, which has sparked widespread condemnation, has heightened tensions in the region, leading to calls for a united approach to addressing security concerns. China’s call for dialogue reflects its longstanding position on encouraging peaceful solutions to conflicts in South Asia.
As both India and Pakistan have historically had strained relations, especially over Kashmir, China’s statement suggests its continued efforts to play a diplomatic role in ensuring peace and stability in the region. However, the international community remains wary of the potential for further escalation.
