BY A STAFF REPORTER: According to the National Center for Seismology, a 4.4-magnitude earthquake hit the Bay of Bengal in the early hours of Monday. The quake struck at a depth of 70 km at 1.29 am Indian time. The epicentre of the quake was 9.75 degrees north latitude and 84.12 degrees east longitude.
