In a historic moment for Angola-India relations, President Joao Manuel Goncalves Lourenco of Angola reflected on the significance of his state visit, which marks the first such visit between the two nations in 38 years.

Speaking to the press, Lourenco emphasized the importance of the visit in strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Angola and India. "This State visit is taking place after 38 years. We see this visit as an important one for Angola, in order to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries," he stated, highlighting the long gap since the last official visit.

He also expressed his deep appreciation for the warm welcome extended to his delegation by the people of India. “We are very thankful for the friendly and hospitable manner in which we were received yesterday by the people of India,” Lourenco added, underscoring the significance of the strong bilateral ties and mutual respect shared by both nations.
