BY A STAFF REPORTER: A 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Mexico, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said. The quake struck at a depth of 10 km from the earth's surface at 2 am on Monday.

According to the NOAA/National Weather Service U.S. Tsunami Warning System, a tsunami is unlikely to occur.

Mexico's National Seismic Service said the quake struck 122 kilometers east of San Jose del Cabo. According to preliminary information, there was no damage in the earthquake.

Mexico's National Civil Defense Coordination said no damage had been reported in the areas where the quake was felt. '
