Alaska Airlines Halts Flight Operations After Mid-Air Window Blowout

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Alaska Airlines temporarily halted operations of their Boeing 737-9 aircraft after their Ontario-bound flight's window blew out shortly after departure from Portland on Friday night. 

Flight 1282 then carried out a safe emergency landing on Portland's International Airport leading to the grounding of all 65 Boeing MAX-9 aircrafts' fleet. However, all 174 passengers and six crew members on board remained unharmed.

The incident occurred as the flight took off and was flying at an altitude of 16,000 feet and the window blew out. Moreover, Alaska Airlines posted on their X handle imparting the information about halting flight operations as a precautionary measure
