Adani Power on Saturday announced that it has signed an agreement with Bhutan’s state-owned Druk Green Power to jointly develop a 570 megawatt (MW) hydroelectric project in the Himalayan kingdom. The project involves an investment of approximately Rs 6,000 crore, aimed at expanding clean energy cooperation between India and Bhutan.

According to Adani Power, the initiative will not only help generate renewable energy but also contribute to regional energy security. The collaboration is expected to boost Bhutan’s hydroelectric capacity, which has long been a key component of its economy and a driver of power exports to India.
