BY A STAFF REPORTER: The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said two Palestinians were killed in clashes with Israeli forces in east Jerusalem's Al-Isavia area.
One of the victims was a 15-year-old boy who died of gunshot wounds, the society said. The organization provides medical assistance to Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza.
The aid agency also said it treated five people, including two who were shot, two wounded by tear gas and one wounded by rubber bullets.
Israeli forces cordoned off al-Isavia and other areas of east Jerusalem on Friday, preventing some people from reaching the Al-Aqsa mosque for Friday prayers. As a result, clashes broke out between Palestinian and Israeli forces in those areas and clashes broke out in al-Isawiyah.
On Friday, Jerusalem police said officers in the area fired fireworks and Molotov cocktails into the air, and in response, officers fired at the three attackers.
Police forces across East Jerusalem are currently working to maintain security and order.
