10 people killed in clash with Mexico police

At least 10 armed men were killed and four police officers wounded in a shootout in Mexico.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: At least 10 suspected criminals have been killed and four police officers injured in a shootout on a highway in northern Mexico.  "Police officers were able to kill 10 suspected heavily armed criminals on the Monterey-Nuevo Laredo highway," the official statement said. The clashes took place after officers were attacked on Monday afternoon. " 

"Four police officers were injured, although all of them are said to be in stable condition," the statement said. Police seized 12 large caliber weapons, grenades, more than 100 rounds of ammunition and three armored trucks, authorities said. ' 

Two members of the armed forces were killed in an attack by suspected organized crime members in the central Mexican state of San Luis Potosi early Tuesday, police said.
