BY A STAFF REPORTER: On the Lathmar Holi celebrations in Barsana, Agra Zone ADG Anupam Kulshrestha says, "Today, 'Lathmar' Holi is being celebrated in Barsana.This is a symbol of love for Lord Krishna, where the 'Horian' play with their 'Lath', with the 'Holyaras' of Nandagaon. An invite goes from Barsana to Nandagaon to come and play Holi... You can see that there is absolute peace, harmony and unity. I'm here to oversee the arrangements and I can vouch that the arrangements from the police administration are very good and there is a major swelling of crowds out here, but everything is in control and law and order is absolutely perfect... Yesterday was 'Laddu' Holi, which is the first of the kind of the entire holy festival in Barsana. There were some misreports about the stampede. There was a huge crowd that had turned up because it was a Sunday, and it was an unprecedented kind of crowd, but everything was in control. There was no stampede of any kind. I appeal to everybody not to spread any such misinformation and maintain the peace and beauty of the city."
