While Holi is celebrated in many parts of India, Dol Yatra is celebrated in many parts of West Bengal. The day of Dol Purnima is considered very auspicious. Therefore, the spring festival is celebrated somewhere in the state, and special worship of Radha-Krishna is celebrated in others.

Santiniketan: Rabindranath Tagore first introduced the spring festival in Santiniketan. The whole of Bolpur-Santiniketan celebrates the spring festival on the occasion of Dol Jatra. A special festival is also held at Visva-Bharati University. On the day of the festival, there is Vaitalik in the morning. After that, the students celebrated the spring festival with song and dance. A large number of people from all over the country and abroad flock to Santiniketan and Bolpur on the occasion of this spring festival.

Nabadwip: Nabadwip in Nadia district is famous as the birthplace of Sri Chaitanyadeva. There are also many Radha Krishna temples here. Special ceremonies are celebrated here on the day of Dol Jatra. Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is worshipped. Radha and Krishna are also worshipped. According to Vaishnava belief, on this day in Vrindavan, Lord Krishna played with colors with Radha. That is why Abir is also played in Nabadwip.

Mayapur: Like Nabadwip, Mayapur is also famous for celebrating the festival of Doljatra. Preparations for the journey begin a month ago. Tourists from all over the country and abroad also come to see this festival.

Also, Basant Utsav is celebrated in a big way at Nimdi in Purulia. Tourists from all over the world come here to celebrate the festival of colors. Other attractions like Chhau dance, Darbari Jhumur, Natua dance, Baul songs are also included in this event. The Madan Mohan temple in Bishnupur is also celebrating Dol Yatra in a big way. Many tourists came to see the festival of Dol Yatra in the area adjacent to the Radha-Krishna temple.
