What is the myth behind Lathmar Holi celebration?

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Lathmar Holi is celebrated a week before Holi. This Holi has been celebrated since ancient times. Lathmar Holi is celebrated in Barsana and Nandgaon. People from different parts of the country come to participate in this Holi. In mythology, this Holi is actually celebrated keeping in mind the love story of Radha and Krishna. This is where Lord Krishna spent his childhood. Radha lived in Barsana. It is said in mythology that Krishna would occasionally come to Barsana to meet Radha. Also, Krishna used to tease the Gopis in various ways during his childhood. He would even occasionally make them wet in water. In return, the Gopis would chase him away from there. Lord Krishna would joke with the Gopis. Mythologists believe that Lathmar Holi was introduced from there.
