As March begins, summer heat is gradually intensifying across North India. However, the Holi festival on March 14 might be accompanied by unexpected rain, bringing slight relief from rising temperatures.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi-NCR is experiencing an increase in daytime temperatures, though mornings remain slightly cool with strong winds. The IMD forecasts light drizzle on Holi, which could lead to a minor dip in temperature. Weather changes are also expected in Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh during this period.

Between March 10-12, Delhi-NCR is likely to witness a further temperature rise, with partly cloudy skies. On March 11-12, strong winds blowing at 20-30 km/h are expected. The maximum temperature during this period is projected to be between 31-34°C, while the minimum may range from 15-18°C. Even during the Chhoti Holi celebrations, the sky is expected to remain cloudy.

Meanwhile, in the hilly regions, a decrease in western disturbances has led to reduced snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir. As a result, temperatures have dropped slightly, and roads are clearing of snow. In Uttarakhand, light rain is predicted in Chamoli, Uttarkashi, and Pithoragarh on March 10. Himachal Pradesh is also expected to receive rainfall between March 10-13, with snowfall likely in Kinnaur, Lahaul-Spiti, Chamba, Kullu, and Kangra districts.

Rajasthan, on the other hand, is witnessing a steady temperature rise. On March 10, temperatures in the state could increase by 2°C. Due to western disturbances, cloudy conditions may prevail from March 10-14, but rainfall chances remain low.
