Delhi: YouTuber and social media influencer Samay Raina on Monday appeared before the Supreme Court following a summons issued in connection with a Public Interest Litigation (PIL). The petition concerns alleged derogatory remarks made against persons with disabilities in an episode of his comedy show India’s Got Latent.

Raina, who is known for his digital content and online presence, was present for the proceedings as the court examined the matter. The PIL had sought accountability for content that, according to the petitioner, mocked or belittled individuals with disabilities, raising concerns about sensitivity and responsibility in digital entertainment.

The Supreme Court heard arguments on whether such remarks, if proven, amounted to a violation of the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities, and whether regulatory mechanisms should apply more strictly to online platforms and influencers.
