Bhubaneswar, Odisha – The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Secretary for Consular, Passport, Visa & Overseas Indian Affairs, Arun Kumar Chatterjee, has shared key details of the upcoming Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) convention, scheduled to begin on January 8, 2025. The event will kick off with the Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas celebrations, setting the stage for discussions on diaspora engagement and India’s global potential.

Chatterjee revealed that the Odisha Government will host two critical plenary sessions on the first day. “The first session is titled 'Unravelling India’s Best Kept Secret,' and the second is 'Odisha, a Land of Opportunities,'” he stated. These sessions will showcase the state’s vast potential for tourism, trade, and investment.

The Odisha Government plans to highlight opportunities for the Indian diaspora in areas such as textiles, garments, forest products, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, food processing, and startups. By fostering these connections, Odisha aims to attract investments and promote its unique cultural and economic strengths.
