Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday issued a scathing condemnation of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, calling it a “cruel, gruesome, and cowardly act.” In a powerful statement posted online, Adityanath expressed deep anguish over the violence, while reaffirming the central government's determination to uproot terrorism from Indian soil.

“No civilized society can accept the desecration of the vermilion of our sisters and daughters in their presence, especially not within India,” Adityanath wrote, referencing the deep emotional and cultural wounds caused by the attack. The comment resonated widely, evoking both outrage over the brutality and support for a tougher stance on terrorism.

Echoing the central government’s position, the Chief Minister stated that India’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and extremism would ensure the complete eradication of such threats. “The beginning of driving the final nail into the coffin of terrorism started yesterday,” he added, signaling that a decisive phase of anti-terror operations has commenced.
