Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has called on the public to actively support the state-wide “No Helmet, No Fuel” campaign, which will be implemented from September 1 to 30. The initiative mandates that petrol pumps refuse fuel to two-wheeler riders not wearing helmets, in a bid to improve road safety.

Highlighting the significance of the drive, Adityanath said the campaign should not be seen as punitive, but as a collective commitment to saving lives. “Helmet first, fuel later is not a punishment but a pledge for safety and the easiest way to protect lives on the roads,” he stated.

The campaign, being run across all districts, aims to reduce fatalities and serious injuries from road accidents by promoting helmet use. Officials said strict adherence to the rule is expected, with cooperation from petrol pump operators and active participation from traffic enforcement agencies.

The Chief Minister urged citizens to consider helmet-wearing as a life-saving habit rather than a compulsion. “Your safety is in your own hands. Wearing a helmet ensures that your family does not have to suffer due to negligence,” he added.
