Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday announced the distribution of sports kits to over 16,000 women and youth across the state as part of a major initiative to strengthen sports culture at the grassroots level. The distribution coincided with the formal launch of the MLA-MP Sports Competition.

Addressing the gathering, Yogi said the initiative reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of promoting fitness, youth empowerment, and community development through sports. “The sports kits are a gift to 16,000 women and youth before Diwali. We have also formally launched the MLA and MP sports competition. This is the culmination of the Prime Minister’s vision,” he said.

He added that the kits include volleyballs, footballs, badminton sets, and other sporting equipment designed to encourage participation in rural and urban areas alike. “It is our responsibility to start this sports competition in our village panchayats first and ensure that every young person gets an opportunity to play,” the Chief Minister said.
