Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday revealed findings from an ongoing investigation into an alleged religious conversion racket in Balrampur district, stating that the accused, identified as Jalaluddin alias Chhingur Baba, was involved in large-scale activities backed by foreign funding.
Addressing the media, Adityanath said, “We have proceeded with a huge investigation in Balrampur. You must have seen he had fixed rates for conversion.” He further alleged that the suspect had received foreign funding and was operating through an extensive financial network.
“Transactions of more than ₹100 crores were found in his 40 bank accounts,” the Chief Minister stated, highlighting the financial scale of the operation. While specifics of the source of funding and nature of the transactions are yet to be made public, Adityanath emphasized the seriousness of the case and assured that strict legal action would follow.
