Aligarh: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday criticised the Opposition, particularly the Samajwadi Party (SP), accusing it of attempting to divide society under the banner of PDA—an acronym for Pichde (backward classes), Dalits, and Alpsankhyak (minorities).

Speaking at a public meeting in Aligarh, Adityanath said, “By raising PDA, the Opposition wants to break social unity. But during riots in Aligarh, Bareilly, Meerut, and other places, it was the BJP that stood firmly with the people.”

The Chief Minister reiterated that his government and party were committed to ensuring law and order and safeguarding communities across Uttar Pradesh. He contrasted this with what he described as divisive approaches adopted by rival political parties.
