Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh: Union Minister for Coal and Mines Pralhad Joshi inspected the world's largest floating solar plant in Khandwa and hailed it as a landmark achievement in India's renewable energy journey. The project, a testament to India’s growing prowess in clean energy innovation, is expected to contribute significantly to the country’s green energy targets.
Speaking during the inspection, Joshi said, “This is the world's largest floating solar project. India is becoming a world leader in the renewable energy sector, so this project is unique of its kind. I congratulate the Central Government and the State Government for this remarkable accomplishment.”
The floating solar plant, located on the Omkareshwar Reservoir, showcases cutting-edge technology that maximizes solar energy production while utilizing minimal land resources. The project aligns with India’s ambitious renewable energy targets and its commitment to reducing carbon emissions.
The minister emphasized the importance of such projects in achieving self-reliance in energy and reducing dependency on fossil fuels. “Projects like this not only boost energy production but also inspire innovation and sustainability in the sector,” he added.
