Kolkata — Speaking on the impact of Operation Sindoor, retired Army officer Major Dr. Agnidipa Das has highlighted the crucial and equal role played by women in the Indian Army’s resolute counter-terror response. In a powerful message, she underscored that the success of the operation was as much about courage as it was about breaking gender barriers in the armed forces.

Operation Sindoor was a bold and symbolic response to Pakistan-sponsored terrorism,” said Major Das. “Women officers led from the front, shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts. In the army, we don’t see gender—we see dedication and courage. Our country comes first, always.”

She emphasized that terrorism cannot be addressed through dialogue alone. “It must be met with decisive action. Our forces have demonstrated that clearly.”

Major Das, who has been an advocate for women’s participation in defense services, also made an appeal to India's youth. “I urge young Indians—especially women—to pursue their dreams with discipline and courage. There is no greater pride than serving the nation.”
