Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh: Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Monday hailed the announcement of a $15 billion Google AI Data Centre and India’s first AI City in Visakhapatnam as a historic milestone in the nation’s technological transformation.
In a post on X, Kalyan wrote, “The path to ‘Viksit Bharat’ from the City of Destiny is now being paved! Visakhapatnam securing the $15 Billion Google AI Data Centre and India's first AI City is a monumental leap. This initiative guarantees that the power of AI for All is truly democratized, impacting the lives of our youth, farmers, doctors, fishermen, entrepreneurs, women and students.”
He credited the development to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership. “This milestone is a direct result of Hon'ble PM Narendra Modi Ji's relentless push for a Viksit Bharat and the global confidence his vision has created. The ability to secure this monumental project is a clear testament to the brand and four decades of visionary experience of Hon’ble CM Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu Garu,” Kalyan stated.
Calling for collective participation, the Deputy CM urged citizens, youth, academia, and industry to collaborate in building Visakhapatnam into a global AI hub. “This new era of progress needs all of us — the youth to innovate, academia to research, citizens to engage, and industry to scale,” he said, adding that the initiative will help harness AI to improve lives and accelerate India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation.
