Speaking in Rohtak, Haryana, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Surendra Jain voiced his strong opposition to the recent firecracker ban in Delhi, specifically during Hindu festivals. Jain raised concerns over what he perceives as selective enforcement of such bans, stating that firecrackers are still allowed during celebrations like Christmas and Eid.

"We oppose this ban and appeal to the Hindu society. There should be no concern about these restrictions, and our festivals should be celebrated with full joy, albeit in a limited manner," said Jain. He further emphasized that Hindus feel targeted by these restrictions, calling it a "very big question that comes to the mind of every Hindu."

The Delhi government’s firecracker ban has been implemented in recent years to curb pollution during the festive season, particularly around Diwali. However, Jain and other members of the VHP argue that these measures are disproportionately aimed at Hindu celebrations, causing resentment among the community.

Jain's remarks come as part of broader criticism from several groups questioning the necessity of the ban and its perceived bias. Despite the opposition, Delhi authorities maintain that the restrictions are in place for public health and environmental reasons, emphasizing the need for a cleaner and safer festival season.
