Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh | The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) is preparing to launch a nationwide campaign to liberate Hindu temples from government control. However, the initiative has sparked sharp criticism from opposition leaders, including Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Awadhesh Prasad, who accused the BJP of using the campaign as a distraction tactic.

Speaking on the issue, Prasad said, “The BJP is trying to divert the people's attention from its failures by raising various topics like this one. Thousands of farmers are still stopped at the Delhi border, the issue of inflation remains unresolved, and many educated youth are unemployed. Even after 75 years since the Constitution was framed, reservation has not been adequately implemented. Instead of addressing these pressing concerns, the BJP, alongside VHP, is focusing on freeing temples from government control.”

He also alleged that governmental institutions are being sold to private firms, calling it a worrying trend that deserves more public attention. Furthermore, Prasad highlighted the neglect of issues like the Sambhal incident, which he claimed are being sidelined deliberately.

The SP leader urged citizens to remain vigilant and demand accountability for what he described as the BJP's failure to address fundamental problems such as economic instability, farmers' grievances, and job creation.
