Delhi: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami outlined the state’s significant progress in implementing India’s new criminal laws during a review meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The review focused on various aspects of the laws, including training, infrastructure, and technological integration.
Speaking about the progress, CM Dhami said, "New laws have been implemented in the country since July, and Uttarakhand is working rapidly to bring them into effect. Today, all these initiatives have been reviewed under the leadership of Home Minister Amit Shah. The work done so far in the state, including training, hardware setup, human resources, and the integration of science and technology, was discussed in detail."
He elaborated that all areas related to law enforcement, forensic science labs (FSL), and medico-legal systems were carefully evaluated. "From police training to FSL and medical legal frameworks, every aspect has been reviewed to ensure smooth implementation of these transformative laws," he added.
Expressing gratitude to the central leadership, CM Dhami said, "I thank the Prime Minister and Home Minister for these new laws that will give a new direction to the country. They are a testament to India's commitment to modernizing its legal and law enforcement framework."
The meeting also emphasized the importance of equipping law enforcement agencies with the necessary tools and skills to align with the updated legal framework. The state of Uttarakhand has emerged as one of the frontrunners in adopting and integrating these new laws, setting an example for other states in India.
