DEHRADUN – Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reiterated his government’s commitment to implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the state, a landmark move that aligns with the BJP's long-standing electoral promise. Speaking at a public event, CM Dhami stated, “Our resolve was to implement the Uniform Civil Code in the state. We had promised the people that after the BJP government is formed, a committee will be constituted to work on this.”

The chief minister confirmed that the state cabinet has approved the act, paving the way for Uttarakhand to become the first state to implement the UCC after India’s independence. “Soon, the Uniform Civil Code will be implemented, ensuring a milestone moment for our state and the nation,” Dhami added.
