Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday announced a thorough inquiry into demographic changes recorded in the state over the past ten years. Speaking on the matter, Dhami said a detailed investigation has been initiated to examine all official documents, certificates and records issued during the last decade.
According to the Chief Minister, the exercise aims to assess the extent and nature of demographic shifts and verify the authenticity of documentation issued during the period. He emphasised that the inquiry will trace developments year by year and compile data that can help authorities determine whether procedural norms were followed in the issuance of identity-backed paperwork.
Dhami stated that the review will include birth and residence certificates, identification records, and other relevant government documents. He added that the administration intends to scrutinise changes with fairness and transparency while ensuring that legal standards are upheld.
