Dehradun: On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the ‘Shailesh Matiyani State Educational Excellence Award’ programme held at Raj Bhavan. The event recognised and honoured 16 teachers from across the state for their remarkable contribution to the field of education.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dhami extended his greetings to the teaching community and paid tribute to former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, in whose memory Teachers’ Day is celebrated every year. He noted that the honoured teachers had gone beyond their regular duties to shape young minds and build a stronger foundation for society.
The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of teachers in nation-building, stressing that they play a vital role not only in imparting knowledge but also in instilling values and discipline among students. He added that the government is committed to strengthening the education system in Uttarakhand and supporting teachers in their professional journey.
