Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday emphasized the state government’s commitment to disaster preparedness and rapid response in the wake of heavy rainfall across several districts.
In a post from the Chief Minister’s Office, it was stated that Dhami had directed officials during a disaster management meeting to conduct relief and rescue operations on a war footing in affected regions. Acting on these instructions, the Chamoli district administration relocated nearly 15–20 families from the Nandan Nagar area to safer locations ahead of a potential landslide.
“The administration took swift action even before the landslide occurred, ensuring the safety of families living in the vulnerable area,” the statement said.
The Chief Minister reiterated that citizen safety remains the top priority during natural disasters. “We are committed to conducting prompt relief and rescue operations in the event of a disaster and ensuring the safety of every citizen,” Dhami said.
