Uttarakhand CM Approves Rs 700+ Crore for Panchayats, Urban Bodies, and Disaster Relief

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved substantial fund allocations under the recommendations of the Fifth State Finance Commission for the financial year 2025-26. The allocations cover district, block, and village panchayats, urban local bodies, disaster mitigation, and infrastructure projects.

Under the plan, Rs 3 crore has been earmarked for non-elected bodies as the second half-year installment. District panchayats will receive Rs 361.25 crore as the third quarterly installment, while block and village panchayats will be allocated funds as the second half-year installment. Urban local bodies have been sanctioned Rs 333.25 crore as the third quarterly installment for the year.

Addressing disaster preparedness, the Chief Minister has approved Rs 1 crore from the Disaster Mitigation Fund for urgent works in Haridwar, a district prone to monsoon-related risks. Additionally, Rs 3 crore has been allocated for repairing public assets damaged by heavy rainfall in areas including Dharali and Syanachatti in Uttarkashi district.
