Patna, Bihar: Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) chief Upendra Kushwaha on Thursday expressed strong confidence in the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) prospects in the ongoing Bihar Assembly elections, predicting a “thumping majority” for the ruling coalition.

Speaking to reporters in Patna, Kushwaha said, “People are voting for the NDA in numbers more than our expectations. Going by the reports that we have been receiving from across Bihar, the NDA is going to register a thumping majority in Bihar.”

Kushwaha also took a jibe at Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav, saying his statements projecting confidence in the Mahagathbandhan’s victory were merely a strategy to keep his party cadre motivated. “It is essential for him (Tejashwi Yadav) to say that right now because this is the first phase of elections and the second phase is yet to be held. If he expresses disappointment from now itself, his workers will be demoralised,” Kushwaha said.

He added that early voting patterns clearly indicate growing public support for the NDA across constituencies. “The trends across Bihar are clear — they are in favour of NDA,” he remarked, underscoring that the alliance’s performance on the ground has exceeded internal expectations.
