NEW DELHI: Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RSLP) national president Upendra Kushwaha has criticized RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav for his remarks on fostering cricket ties between India and Pakistan. Yadav had suggested that the two countries should host each other’s cricket teams, but Kushwaha swiftly responded, questioning his understanding of foreign policy.
"Tejashwi Yadav should first understand foreign policy and then make a comment about this. The central government and PM Modi are capable enough to decide about the foreign policy," Kushwaha said in a statement.
Kushwaha's response comes after Yadav expressed his support for a bilateral cricket series between India and Pakistan, despite ongoing political tensions between the two countries. The debate over sports diplomacy has gained momentum, with political leaders on both sides weighing in.
The RSLP leader stressed that matters of foreign policy should be left to the expertise of the central government, highlighting the importance of a strategic and cautious approach when it comes to international relations.
