UP Minister Swatantra Dev Singh Refutes Akhilesh Yadav’s Allegations on Maha Kumbh Stampede

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Minister Swatantra Dev Singh has strongly refuted allegations made by Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav that the state government is concealing the actual number of deaths in the Maha Kumbh stampede. Singh questioned the need for the government to hide such figures and accused the SP and Congress of historically disregarding Hindu traditions.

"Why would we hide it? Ever since Independence, Congress and Samajwadi Party have always raised… They neither believe in Lord Ram nor in anyone else. They used to prohibit Kanwar Yatra and Ram Bharat, but now we are showering petals on them (devotees). We now provide electricity on Eid as well as Navratri," Singh said.
