Bhadohi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday addressed the 49th edition of the India Carpet Expo and the 4th Bhadohi Carpet Expo, underlining the significance of Bhadohi as a major hub for carpet manufacturing in India.
Speaking at the event, Adityanath highlighted the continuous organisation of the India Carpet Expo over the past four years and the government’s efforts to invite foreign buyers to boost exports of handmade carpets. "More than 300 buyers from 88 countries are expected to attend this year," he said, noting the event’s role in promoting international trade.
The Chief Minister also referenced initiatives to support traditional enterprises, including the ‘1 District 1 Product’ scheme launched in 2018, aimed at promoting local craftsmanship and economic development. He further mentioned that, in view of international tariffs, the Indian government has been pursuing free trade agreements with various countries to strengthen exports.
