Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday announced that the state government will provide compensation of Rs 35–40 lakh in the event of a sanitation worker’s death. The payment will be facilitated through banks to ensure timely and transparent disbursal.

The CM emphasized the government’s commitment to the welfare and safety of sanitation workers, noting that such measures aim to support the families of workers who lose their lives while performing essential public services. Officials said the scheme will include clear procedures to enable swift processing of claims and ensure that affected families receive the compensation without delays.

This announcement comes amid ongoing efforts by the state government to improve worker safety, welfare schemes, and social security measures for sanitation staff across Uttar Pradesh.
