MUMBAI: Union Minister for Shipping, Ports, and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal underscored the robust strategic partnership between India and Italy during his visit to the Italian training ship Amerigo Vespucci and Villaggio Italia in Mumbai on Friday. The minister welcomed the crew of the 93-year-old vessel, symbolizing the enduring ties between the two nations.
"Our two countries share a strong strategic relationship, particularly in trade and commerce, and we are committed to further strengthening this bond," Sonowal said. He extended a warm welcome to the Italian guests on behalf of India, expressing his optimism for the growth of bilateral ties.
Sonowal noted the historical significance of the Italian ship and highlighted how such visits foster deeper cultural and economic connections. “The ship that has arrived is 93 years old, and we warmly welcome all our Italian guests. We want our relationship to keep growing like this,” he stated.
