Ranchi: Union Minister Sanjay Seth on Saturday highlighted the opportunities for Jharkhand’s micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to engage with the defence sector during the East Tech Symposium 2025. He noted that the symposium has sparked widespread excitement across the state regarding industrial and entrepreneurial growth.
“Today, the focus was specifically on Jharkhand, where participants from Jharkhand's MSME startups discussed in detail how they could connect with the defence sector and what steps to take if they faced any difficulties or obstacles,” Seth said. He added that the event, now on its second day, has already created momentum that could transform the state’s industrial direction.
The Minister praised the state’s MSME sector as “very advanced” and emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s focus on fostering startup growth. “The more startups grow, the more self-reliant we will become,” he said, highlighting the importance of defence clusters in integrating smaller industries and boosting their contribution to national development.
Seth also linked MSME growth to employment generation, stating, “As the MSME sector develops, employment opportunities will also expand… When we create defence clusters, our smaller industries and smaller MSME sectors will join forces and perform significant work.”
