Patna, Bihar: Union Minister Nityanand Rai has accused the RJD-Congress alliance and members of the Communist Party of disrespecting the legacy of former Bihar Chief Minister and Bharat Ratna awardee Karpoori Thakur. Rai’s remarks came on the occasion of Thakur’s 101st birth anniversary, when the contributions of the revered leader were remembered.

“RJD-Congress and people from the communist party disrespected Former Bihar CM Bharat Ratna Karpoori Thakur,” said Rai, referencing political dynamics in Bihar. He also highlighted the honor bestowed upon Thakur by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who awarded him the prestigious Bharat Ratna.

Rai emphasized that during Karpoori Thakur’s tenure as Bihar’s Chief Minister, he played a pivotal role in the upliftment of the poor and backward communities, making significant strides in social justice. “When Karpoori Thakur was the Chief Minister of Bihar, he worked for the upliftment of poor, people from the backward community,” he added, underscoring Thakur’s commitment to the welfare of marginalized sections of society.
