By A Staff Reporter — Guwahati, Assam: In response to the growing water crisis, Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil emphasized the importance of water conservation during a statement made today. He noted the increasing water problems that have become a pressing concern across the country, urging the need for immediate and sustained efforts to address this issue.
Patil stated, "The way the water problem is increasing day by day, at such a time, the ministry is working to highlight Jal Shakti, to revive it, to fulfil the water needs of the people, for agriculture, and to conserve water for the coming generations as well."
The minister's comments reflect the government's commitment to tackling water scarcity through a range of initiatives aimed at both short-term and long-term solutions. These include improving water storage, increasing the efficiency of water usage in agriculture, and promoting community-based water conservation efforts.
Patil stressed the importance of ensuring that future generations have access to clean and sufficient water resources. The ministry's work includes the implementation of various schemes aimed at water management, storage, and awareness campaigns to encourage water-saving practices at the grassroots level.
