Delhi: Union Minister of State for Agriculture Bhagirath Chaudhary has extended an open invitation to farmers for dialogue, reaffirming the government’s readiness to address their grievances. Speaking to reporters, Chaudhary underscored the importance of farmers as the backbone of India’s agriculture sector and assured them of the government’s support.
“We are ready to talk with farmers. The doors are open for them, and if they call us, we are also ready to go,” Chaudhary stated. Recognizing farmers as the nation’s "annadatas" (food providers), he added, “Their pain is our pain, and we are ready to go among them.”
The minister urged farmers to communicate their issues clearly so that solutions can be devised. “They should tell us what the problem is, then we will see how to solve it,” he said.
The remarks come amidst ongoing discussions about agricultural reforms, farmer protests, and the challenges faced by the farming community, including rising input costs and market uncertainties. Chaudhary’s assurance reflects the government’s attempt to maintain constructive engagement with farmers and address their concerns effectively.
The Union Ministry of Agriculture has reiterated its commitment to prioritizing the welfare of farmers and ensuring policies that benefit the agricultural sector, which remains a critical pillar of India’s economy.
