Churu, Rajasthan: Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, addressing a gathering in Churu, Rajasthan, criticized the Congress party for what he described as repeated insults to Dr. BR Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution.
Meghwal highlighted the discussions in Parliament about the Constitution, stating, "The Constitution of India was discussed in the Lok Sabha on December 13 and 14 and in the Rajya Sabha on December 16 and 17. The Congress insults Dr. BR Ambedkar the most."
Referring to recent controversies, Meghwal responded to claims about a short video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s speech in the Rajya Sabha that has been circulating online. "In response, they are spreading misinformation about a 12-13 second video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah's speech in the Rajya Sabha," he said.
The Union Minister's remarks come amidst heightened political tensions and debates surrounding the legacy of Dr. Ambedkar and the interpretation of his contributions to Indian democracy. Meghwal reiterated the government’s commitment to upholding the values enshrined in the Constitution and accused the Congress of distorting facts for political gain.
The Congress has not yet issued a formal response to Meghwal’s allegations. The ongoing exchanges between the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress highlight the contentious political environment as parties gear up for upcoming elections. The legacy of Dr. Ambedkar and his vision for India continue to be central themes in the nation’s political discourse.
