New Delhi | Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, currently on an official visit to Brazil, shared key observations and insights from his experience with the country’s modern agricultural practices. In a post on social media platform 'X', Chouhan reflected on the technological advancements he encountered during his stay.
“During my stay in Brazil, I have had the opportunity to enrich myself with various experiences and techniques. Here, I am observing agriculture and also learning many new things,” he wrote, underlining the purpose of the visit as a knowledge-gathering exercise.
Chouhan specifically highlighted Brazil’s irrigation practices, pointing to the use of sprinkler systems that distribute nutrient-infused water. “I have seen the irrigation system here. Sprinklers are being used to irrigate tomato crops — this water has nutrients (Urea) dissolved in it,” he noted.
Brazil, known for its advanced agri-technology and large-scale farming, is one of the global leaders in agricultural exports. Indian authorities have been increasingly looking to international best practices to modernize domestic agriculture, improve productivity, and promote sustainable farming methods.
