Delhi — Congress leader Udit Raj, who has filed a petition in the ongoing Waqf Act case, has raised concerns over the inclusion of non-Muslims in the Waqf Council. He stated that, as a citizen, he believes the council’s composition should not include non-Muslims and has urged the court to eliminate this provision. Raj's petition follows indications from the preliminary hearing that the court might rule to remove non-Muslim inclusion and address the issue of 'Waqf by user'.

Advocate Shahid Ali, representing Udit Raj, clarified that while the court has not yet issued an interim order, the proceedings suggest the possibility of these changes being upheld. The outcome of this case could lead to significant revisions in the Waqf Act, with further developments expected in the coming hearings.
