Delhi: Congress leader Udit Raj on Saturday levelled serious allegations against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) following its sweeping victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, calling the mandate a product of “misuse of technology” and systematic voter manipulation. Speaking in the national capital, Raj claimed the election was neither free nor fair and accused the Election Commission of complicity.
“They won the election through the misuse of SIR and EVM. Technically, they did not win fairly; they stole the victory,” he said. According to him, nearly 22,000 votes were allegedly deleted in a single Vidhan Sabha constituency using SIR technology, disproportionately affecting voters from the Yadav and Muslim communities. “They removed votes of the opposition… It is a secret formula behind their victory,” he alleged.
Raj asserted that the irregularities amounted to electoral fraud, contending that “the victory belongs to Gyanesh Kumar, the Election Commission, and SIR,” rather than the NDA. He further warned that once the political landscape changes, accountability will follow. “One day, Gyanesh Kumar will retire, and when the government changes, then no one will come to his rescue,” he said.
Calling the exercise a “significant case of vote theft,” Raj argued that the electoral process failed fundamental democratic standards. “This was not a proper election; we cannot even call it an election,” he said, as the Congress continues to question the legitimacy of the Bihar verdict.
